Beauty debate | What defines beauty?

Being a part of the blogging world, it's no surprise that I spend a vast amount of my time surrounded by make-up counters, glossy magazines and other beauty product-addicts...and it got me thinking: what defines beauty?

Does having long, glossy locks, a beautifully symmetric face, with immaculate make up, a 'Victoria's Secret' body draped with the finest designer clothes, make you beautiful? I mean, after all, these are the sorts of people who adorn the glossy magazine that we all rush out to buy.

But does make-up really make you more beautiful? Who defines beauty? Is it the opposite sex or competition with the same sex? I actually think beauty is different for everyone, nobody should judge the way others look by their own definition of, beauty. BUT, this is inevitable, there are plenty of people in the world that deem it perfectly acceptable to judge others on the way they decide to dress or apply their make up that day. But often this is just a reflection on themselves and their own perceptions, or insecurities.

Personally? I think beauty is confidence and elegance and an ability to carry yourself as you are! It's fine to look however you want, dress however you want to dress as long as YOU are confident.

Benefit Fakeup Concealer review

Recently I found myself on a mission to find a great concealer. Now I don't know about you, but the problem I have with most concealers is that I have acne prone skin. Naturally I want to cover these blemishes but the product ends up sitting in the deep cracks & crevices and makes it more pronounced....great!

After feeling a little overwhelmed with the usual department store choices, I met a lovely smiley face at the Benefit counter. I explained my problematic skin and she thought Fakeup concealer would be perfect for me - she wasn't wrong!

Fakeup is available in 3 shades and is housed in this gorgeous lipstick sized tube, surrounded by a hydrating formula which is wonderful for covering blemishes and applying under the eyes. This product easily stayed on my skin all day...I couldn't ask for more.

Bioderma Sebium Purifying and Foaming Cleansing Gel review

Throughout June Escentual had 1/3 off all French brands. So naturally I was curious as I've seen a lot of bloggers talk about the Bioderma Micelle Solution make up remover - you can read my review and experience with Escentual here.

 After searching for my 'holy grail' cleanser for quite some time, so with my newly found love for Bioderma it seemed only logical to try their Sebium purifying and foaming cleanser.

I've been using this product every day and night for two weeks as part of my routine and I can honestly say I love it! Unfortunately I have problem skin - an oily T-Zone with super dry everywhere else with acne spots thrown in too (joy!). The formula is soap free although it lathers like one and feels really gentle on the skin - not harsh at all. This product has reduced my spots too and I haven't had as many since using it - amazing!

I bought this for £6.00 this offer has now ended however I would definitely repurchase this for the non-sale price of £9.00.

Care for you hair #2 - BaByliss New Big Hair.

This has been part of my hair care routine for a while now and its safe to say I couldn't live without it!

So what is it? It's a mix between a hairdryer and a big rotating barrel brush. It lets you achieve a salon blow dry in your own home, because if you're like me you like the maximum results with the least amount of effort.  I've never have been very good at the traditional brush and hairdryer, my arm gets tired, I get hot and lose interest pretty quickly.  Then this magical product entered my life, it's super easy to use, even for the hairstyling novice!

So how do I use it? It's simple, if your hair is really thick like mine, I either wait for it to dry naturally or use a hairdryer until its  around 80% dry, this will give you the best results. Section your hair into manageable chunks, then use the rotating brush until your hair is completely dry.

If you use it correctly your blowdry lasts for at least 3 days! I'm in love.
