POTW #1 Le Blush Creme De Chanel

This week I've been loving this gorgeous little blush from Chanel. Now, I think you'll agree that it does look a little scary, especially in contrast to that black packaging - but it could not be further from the truth. This is actually a really pretty, yet subtle blush on the skin - perfect for Summer!

It's a creme blush, that when applied, turns to a more powdery-type consistency, which happens to be perfect for the somewhat dry skin on my cheeks. I bought mine in the colour '69 Intonation'

At £28.00 the price is to be expected when buying high-end products, such as Chanel. You use hardly any of it on each use, so I honestly don't think you could use it up before it 'expired'.

Rimmel - Matte BB Cream

I first started experimenting with BB creams when they became popular a few years ago but my main problem was colour matching, every shade I tried was far too dark. Although back then there wasn't quite the selection there is now and the market is quite literally saturated with BB creams with almost every cosmetics company offering their version of this wonder product.

I was really interested to try another BB cream as it sounds like a perfect solution to the hot sticky Summer days we have here in the UK. I didn't want to spend a lot, as my previous experience wasn't wholly positive. That aside I picked up Rimmel's Matte BB Cream for £6.99.

What it promises: "9-in-1 skin perfecting super make-up. Minimises the appearance of pores, mattifies and controls shine all day. Smoothes and soothes skin. Conceals dark circles and helps prevent blemishes."

What I thought: Ok, so in the store, the colour swatch looked pretty good and I was pretty impressed. Although when I got home I encountered that all too frequent problem that in the cold light of day, away from the beauty counter, it was too dark. Aside from that the coverage was actually pretty good, the right balance of matte and moisture.

My only problem is that it only comes in two shades - hardly a wide range of skin tones! Sigh...my quest continues.

DIY natural lipscrub with just 3 ingredients!

A lorra' lorra' lip balms.

They are a beauty staple, here are a few of my favourites.

First up...the everyday one. For me it's really important that it's small and compact enough to fit into anywhere from my clutch bag to my jacket pocket. When you're out n' about, the wind and the sun play havoc on your lips so it's essential to choose something nourishing and with a SPF. I've chosen Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm which at £2.89 is super affordable. It feels great, isn't thick or waxy, leaves a sheen on your lips and is also available in a pot instead of a tube. Perfect for the everyday look.

Second up...for those times when your lips need some TLC, when you have sore, cracked lips that are just too much for a regular lip balm. I use Blistex Medplus Repairing Lip Balm at £2.30 - I love this stuff. It soothes and has a menthol feel to it. Plus, with its nourishing jojoba oil and cocoa butter, it feels like a pretty luxurious 'medicine'.

Third up...the cute one. Ok we're still girls at the end of the day and I dunno about you but I still can't resist the urge to buy something based on its 'cute-factor'. For this I present to you...the Smooch Operator Lip Butter Balm at £5.00. Let's face it, Soap&Glory products always smell pretty great and this is no exception. It's full of goodness with things like wild mango butter and vitamin E, plus argan and rose hip oils. And if that wasn't enough...the product is pink, need I say any more?

Next up...the one for people that like to take a natural approach - as fewer chemicals can only be a good thing. For this I've chosen Dr Organic Vitamin E Lip Balm at £3.49! They claim that 'Dr.Organic utilises only the finest natural and organic raw materials wherever possible' and to be honest I was actually really impressed with the quality of it. The product contains beeswax so it clings to the lips without feeling sticky and doesn't leave a sheen. Also, it would be perfect to use under lipstick. 

Now for ...The tinted one. All the nourishing of a lip balm with a  pop of colour, the perfect answer to chapped lips and those who feel bare without a splash of colour. I absolutely love Barry M Cor Barmy Lip Balm'.  I sometimes feel that tinted lip balms don't give enough colour or only come in a couple of shades, however this beauty is available in 4 gorgeous colours, I chose 'Rosie Lea'.

Organix Coconut Oil Hydrating Oil Mist

While doing my weekly food-shop - which, lets face it, is a pretty laborious task - I decided to swing by the beauty section, as you do! And I'm glad I did as I spotted this little beauty...

It's a blend of lightweight oil to make hair soft and tame flyaways. You spray this onto towel dried hair and style as normal. I have to say that I was seriously impressed on just my first try! My hair was left feeling really smooth, shiny, no flyaways and I didn't feel as though there was any product in my hair at all!

I picked this up at Tesco for £3.99 - this is a promotional price and usually £5.99 Bargain!
